Walkthrough of the install

01

The single-plane floor

The entire bathroom floor is one surface — no step, no threshold, no change in material entering the shower zone. We built the slope to the linear drain into the mortar bed under the tile. From anywhere in the room the floor reads as flat; it's only when you step into the shower zone that you feel the gentle fall toward the drain.

02

Why we chose a linear drain

A linear drain lets the floor slope on one plane instead of four. Easier for us to install cleanly, easier for the eye to read as flat, and the long slot drains water faster than a traditional center drain. The drain cover is tile-insert style so it reads as part of the floor rather than a visible chrome grate.

03

Vanity choice to balance the stone weight

Large-format gray stone on all four walls could easily feel heavy. The floating white vanity on the opposite wall is deliberately light — bright white, floating off the floor, with a thin profile. It balances the visual mass of the stone without competing with it.
